Before school was dismissed for the summer, a friend’s daughter had an interesting project.
She was supposed to go around her house and find out what country the products came from. Did you know Proctor and Gamble’s Bounce is from Canada, and GlaxoSmithKline’s AquaFresh toothpaste is from England? The funniest one I found is that my daughter’s three American Girl dolls were made in China! Now, that’s a ChaCha oxymoron!
Finding products “Made In America” can be a challenge, but now there are stores and websites that help you locate companies, brands, and products you desire right here in the Good Ol’ USA. Check out this site at www.stillmadeinusa.com to help you find a variety of products.
An article in the Daily News said that many of the generic brands in stores are made in America verse the national counterparts. So, not only do you save money, but you are investing back into the community. Of course, most people, including me, are going to still buy foreign products and goods because it is easy.
My intent was to draw your ChaCha attention to items you may use and consume by checking the label, and perhaps make a different choice and buy American. I had no ChaCha idea that so many products weren’t made in the USA, and as we approach July fourth weekend, it made me think about buying American and helping grow our economy.
ABC news and Diane Sawyer broadcasted a Made In America challenge since more than 60 percent of everything we buy is made overseas. According to her, if every family spent $64 more a year on American Goods, we would generate 200,000 more jobs.
Did you know that ChaChaBella rings and jewelry are assembled in America? So, go ahead and purchase a bit of ChaChaBella sparkle in honor of July fourth weekend, and your girlfriends will “ooh and ahh” over your new ring, in addition to the fireworks in the sky!
If you have a favorite “Made in America” product, send me the information at S@chachabella.com and you will be entered to win a ring in one of our patriotic colors.
